Richard Gere first break came in musical theatre in the 70s although he is perhaps most famous for his role in "Pretty Woman" in 1990. Earlier than this Gere enjoyed commercial success with "An Officer and a Gentleman" (1982).
In 2002, Gere starred in one of my favourite movies "The Mothman Prophecies" as well as the excellent “Hoax” (2007), the true story of Howard Hughes biographer Clifford Irving (Gere). Gere embraced an unsuspecting Shilpa Shetty and ignited fury across India for violating obscenity laws.
